Have you ever questioned whether God still loves you? Understanding His unconditional love provides a foundation of security, even when we feel our mistakes or foolish words might cause His affection to waver.
Our Position in Christ
So, what does it mean to be heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ? It signifies that our relationship with the Father is not defined by our actions. The errors we make do not alter our position in Christ; we cannot earn more of His favor or lose any of it, because His unconditional love is absolute. He loves us fully and completely, regardless of our performance.
Embracing God’s Unchanging Love
Grasping the concept of God’s unchanging nature can be difficult when we are accustomed to the conditional love found in human relationships. While we may have experienced affection that fluctuates based on behavior, God’s devotion is different. It is constant, unwavering, and eternally secure.

When we understand that God’s love is not based on our performance, it frees us from the burden of trying to earn his love. We can rest in the knowledge that we are fully accepted and loved by him, just as we are. This allows us to approach him with confidence, knowing that his love for us is steadfast and unchanging.

So, the next time you find yourself asking, “Lord, do you still love me?” remember that your position in Christ as a son or daughter of God is secure. Your mistakes and foolishness do not change God’s love for you. He loves you unconditionally, and his love is constant and unwavering. Embrace this truth and live in the freedom and confidence it brings. And remember: The stupid things we’ve done or said don’t change our position in Christ—we can never make God love us anymore or any less than he already does.
