Dale Sellers: Stalled

Stalled: Hope and Help for Pastors Who Thought They’d Be There By Now
(David C Cook, 2020)

WHO: Dale Sellers, a former pastor and executive director of 95Network.

HE SAYS: “My journey of healing and transformation began with my confession to a friend that I felt like a failure because I hadn’t gotten there yet. But the truth is, I was always there. Because there is wherever Jesus is.”

THE BIG IDEA: Ministry is what you do, not who you are.

THE PROGRESSION:
In Part 1, “Why Can’t I Get There?” the author shares from his own experiences of being stuck to help readers become more aware of their own situations. Part 2, “What Will I Find There?” looks at the present ministry situation without blinders on and encourages readers to take ownership. Part 3, “The Fulfillment of Living There,” emphasizes the importance of finding the sweet spot of joy.

“What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?”

So, we had to do less ministry to reach more people. It sounds funny, but people had to be trained in how to do life with nonbelievers or people spiritually disinterested.
