Try This: Start a DivorceCare for Kids Program

Give kids the emotional support they need to cope with their parents’ divorce.

Divorce is a painful and difficult process for parents, but it can be even more traumatic for kids. Many churches nationwide offer a support group and recovery program called DivorceCare for Kids to help children heal from the pain of their parents’ divorce. Trained leaders from the church guide participating children in structured activities like snack time, arts and crafts, games, journaling, prayer and watching videos provided by the DivorceCare for Kids program. At each activity station, leaders use gentle prompts to encourage children to talk about their feelings and find the support they need.
