Eugene Cho's Secret to Avoid Ministry Burnout

Best advice for young leaders

What I tell some of the younger pastors that I’m mentoring is to do ministry from the inside out, not from the outside in. What I mean by that is if you look at the influential, successful pastors and that’s what drives you and motivates you, you’re looking at ministry outside in. You’re looking at ministry from a perspective that says, “How do I get there?” You’ve got to look within and say, “How do I become the person God’s called me to be?  How do I love my spouse, my children? How do I become the most influential pastor to my congregation?” Ministry done from the inside out focuses on the inner transformation God intends to do in us.
