It is often a judgment call of whether to say yes or no.

Some church leaders question whether asking numerical numbers borders on the idolatry of numbers. Others simply don’t worry about attendance numbers.

Those who are younger feel more comfortable taking advice from peers instead of those who are older and more seasoned (put another way: from someone who has actually done something, over time, with success).

Resilience is a skill we all need to build. Acknowledging disappointments as part of the leadership landscape helps us bounce back with grace. You will not always lead the meeting with patience and understanding.

The ideal level of challenge in your leadership is where you think your best thoughts, pray your deepest prayers, discover great ideas and solutions, your relationships are solid, and you are making measurable progress.

Think of each person as having equal voice and vote but in recognition of specific gifting, experiential knowledge, and proven intuition, one of them getting two votes (so to speak) at any given moment, depending on what’s being discussed and/or related decisions that need to be made.
