Ministry Provides Temporary Housing for the Homeless

Help for the homeless in Massachusetts involves much more than a cot at a temporary shelter shared by others. Thanks to a ministry a Nazarene church started 25 years ago, some receive a transitional home to call their own.

 

Friends of the Homeless of South Shore, a Christian nonprofit organization founded in 1984 by North Street Community Chapel, offers housing in cottages at a former hotel site and in apartments the group owns. The ministry also offers help with food, clothing, furniture and job searches.
