Try This: Encourage Small Groups to Adopt a Service Project

Ask your small groups to commit to a specific long-term local service project. Find one your church is passionate about, and ask small groups to serve in different ways or at various times. Or, let your small groups express their individuality and unique gifts and choose a project where they can best serve others with the love of Jesus. Sticking to one project allows group members to become more deeply involved in the cause and better address a problem, and it creates relational opportunities among group members, who have a long-term goal in common.
