Many of our “beliefs” are not aspects of Christian doctrine at all, but rather ideologies we have made into theologies.

When you lead a church, you can’t help but dream—and dream big. I think that’s one of the marks of a leader. But for most, it’s not long before the dream comes face to face with reality.

Nearly one in three high school girls have considered suicide, reflecting a 60% rise in the past decade. Nearly 15% have been forced to have sex. About six in 10 girls were so consistently sad or hopeless they stepped away from regular activities.

Forty percent of parents are saying they are extremely/very worried about their child struggling with anxiety or depression. Another 36% are somewhat concerned. That’s three out of every four parents with mental health on their parenting radar in relation to their child.

It takes courage to stand with Scripture in a culture hostile to its moral compass. Sometimes it takes even more courage to stand up to your own religious peers when they are the ones capitulating to that culture.

Have you set aside 40 days to be sure you’re doing what God wants, to prepare yourself to do what God wants, or to address something in your life so that you’re living the way God wants?

And there is only one cure. It is not another law, though new ones may be needed; it is not a change in policing, though changes may be needed. Those are band-aids—helpful, perhaps, but band-aids. They do not address the disease.

Among young people ages 18-29, one in three say they go to church less than they did pre-pandemic. Before COVID, 30% of adults under the age of 30 did not attend religious services. By the Spring of 2022, that had risen to 43%.
