Jackie Hill Perry: Holier Than Thou

Holier Than Thou

WHO: Jackie Hill Perry, an author, poet and Bible teacher.

SHE SAYS: “If and when holiness is prescribed in a way that doesn’t involve addressing the underlying belief systems leading to sin, we’re potentially fumbling the ball.”

THE BIG IDEA: This book examines the concept of holiness using God’s Word to reveal his character. One goal of the book is to prove that “if” doesn’t belong in front of “God is holy.”

THE PROGRESSION: In seven chapters the author uses Scripture to explain the beauty of God in his holiness.

“If God is holy, then he can’t sin. If God can’t sin, then he can’t sin against me. If he can’t sin against me, shouldn’t that make him the most trustworthy being there is?”
