At Cru, we have begun using AI tools to help us maintain our relationships with current believers, as well as help us connect with those who may just be beginning their journey in faith.
One useful analogy is to think of AI as an intern: eager to assist, capable of handling a variety of tasks, but still requiring oversight and final judgment from a human mentor.
It’s one thing to ask AI to help with sermon title ideas; it’s another to replace the study of God’s Word, and the work of the Holy Spirit, with ideas pulled together by AI.
Pastors and church leaders should be aware of its potential uses within their churches while remaining diligent toward the ways in which AI can undermine the message being communicated and change us without us even being aware.
