Good things happen when we get a grasp of the gospel, that the crucified Christ is also the risen Lord. In our newfound reason to unite, the instinct to separate falls away, social media is transformed from platforms that are destructive into opportunities for gospel witness, and we begin to love people well enough to tell them the good news of Jesus, even as our own fears are cast out (1 John 4:18).

The power is in the message, not the messenger. This is why the apostle Paul described the Gospel as “the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes….” (Romans 1:16).

Don’t ask your pastor to make every decision. Most pastors are “decision weary.” Unless the issue is critical, see if you can find solutions other than going to the pastor with the problem or need.

The voice many people hear above God’s is the voice of their own hurt, pain, disappointment, upbringing, bad experiences with churches, impatience with others’ faults, independence, a desire to do everything their way, etc.

Times shift with regard to what makes the gospel appealing, relevant and resonant in our society, culture and world. Nothing captures people’s attention today more than a social vision concerned with justice, peace, grace and equity.

There’s something unique about Jesus that is absolutely compelling, and if we can make him our story, then watch out.

Ensure the message the church shares on its website, social media pages, and in-person equals the experience guests will encounter when they arrive.

It is our faith that unites us to other believers. We ought to be tethered together, invested in each other’s lives, and care for the faith of one another further than our conversion stories.
