Everyone who is Jesus’ disciple is his witness (Acts 1:8) and is sent somewhere, whether locally or further afield. The New Testament shows us fishermen, tax collectors, former prostitutes, women who’d had 5 husbands, zealots, ex-Pharisees, old, young, rich, poor, educated and uneducated, sent out on mission to draw people to Jesus. So there’s no excuse for watching someone else do it instead of us.

Why do we see revivals start with young people? Because they are desperate for a mighty move of God. They long for change.

Tips for creating a culture of evangelism in your church.

Losses tend to turn out to be wins in disguise. Remember, we are the death and resurrection people. The gospel calls us to a cheerful confidence to jump into the fray, and to a cheerful humility to lose well (if we must), knowing that the Father can take painful losses and raise them up to be gospel wins.

We create opportunities by initiating conversations, listening closely to others, and taking those conversations clearly and concisely to the gospel.

York Moore, who has the benefit of observing decades of evangelistic outreach, is equally bullish about the avenue TikTok has opened for the gospel. He says that we could be seeing the greatest evangelistic opportunity in American history.

Secularism has said that if we had more education, more science and better government, we’d have a good life. But the COVID pandemic showed us that science alone wasn’t enough to guarantee a good life. The War in Ukraine has shown us that education and good government aren’t enough either. As Sayers says, “It’s as if the tide of the gospel has gone so far out that the sheer weight of the gospel is going to come rushing back in.” This is not a threat to the gospel, but an opportunity. There is a vacuum out there that longs to be filled.
