Honoring the Best Books and Media in Evangelism, Justice, Cross-Cultural Ministry and More

Outreach magazine is accepting submissions for consideration for the 8th annual Outreach Resources of the Year.

The Resources of the Year honor resources specifically focused on outreach in areas such as evangelism, justice and compassionate service, and cross-cultural ministry in the United States and around the world.

Your submissions are the critical first step in determining what resources will earn recognition as the “best.” The Resources of the Year will be announced in the March/April 2011 issue of Outreach magazine.

Please submit only those resources that you believe best emphasize outreach ministries. Submitted works will only be considered if they were released and in stores between Nov. 1, 2009, and Oct. 31, 2010.

To submit a resource for consideration, please download and complete the Submission Form (from the Attachments box in the right-hand column) and e-mail it as an attachment to SMarshall@Outreach.com with “ORY11 Submission” in the subject line. Please include the full title and subtitle of the submitted work. You will receive a confirmation e-mail when Outreach has received your nomination form. Also, please mail two copies of the submitted book or other media resource, with a copy of the submission form attached, to:

SUBMISSION FORMS AND COPIES OF SUBMITTED MATERIALS MUST BE RECEIVED ON OR BEFORE NOV. 5, 2010.

The Outreach editorial staff will examine all of the submitted works and decide which ones will become “nominees” that will be forwarded to independent expert panelists. The panelists will evaluate the nominees that are within their area of expertise. The panelists will select which nominees to honor as the Outreach Resources of the Year.

Thank you for your participation.

Ohio Church Makeover

This move would not only give them room to grow, but also would enable them to do a lot more to fulfill their mission of being a church focused on “building the kingdom, one life at a time.”

How Much Tech Do You Actually Need?

Because you cannot do this alone, you are going to have to trust the right individuals who know more about tech than you do. Your calling is to shepherd. Do that.

Gene Appel: Do Less Ministry; Reach More People

None of the programs at our church were bad in and of themselves. The volume of it just prevented us from being focused on building relationships with those who are far from God. So, we had to do less ministry to reach more people. It sounds funny, but people had to be trained in how to do life with nonbelievers or people spiritually disinterested.
