RE:NEW Talks—Real Conversations for Pastors and Leaders Right Now

There’s no question this has been one of the most difficult years in history, and pastors and church leaders have not been immune to this pain. Many are struggling to keep perspective, stay encouraged and lead their churches well.

In an effort to bring unique encouragement and support to pastors during this difficult time, the Luis Palau Association is hosting a free online pastor’s gathering on October 29. This online event, called RE:NEW Talks—Real Conversations for Pastors and Leaders Right Now, will feature respected leaders from all over the nation, sharing their own personal advice and encouragement of leading during this global crisis. Speakers will include Craig Groeschel, Tony Evans, Luis Palau, Bob Goff, Lee Strobel, John Mark Comer, Wendy Palau, David Platt and Michael Kelsey. It will also incorporate worship from Hillsong United and Matt Redman and a powerful message of encouragement from Andrew Palau.

“We know that now can be an especially hard time for pastors and leaders,” shared Andrew Palau, “that’s why this event is so important—we all need encouragement, and we want to bless pastors and leaders with this event.”

The Palau team has already enlisted the partnership of many churches and non-profit organizations, including America Prays, City Gospel Movements, Global Network of Evangelists, Pray America and Promise Keepers.

If you would like to partner with and share RE:NEW Talks, below are steps you can take this week:

Email/text the pastors & ministry leaders in your network
• Post the event on your social media platforms
• Please remind your pastors & leaders that RE: NEW Talks is a FREE event

With the Palau Association’s international travel on hold amidst the current worldwide pandemic, the team is channeling much of their resources and experience to multimedia platforms. In recent months, it has hosted two massive online festivals called Stories of Hope and Sí Hay Esperanza, reaching millions of people in English- and Spanish‐speaking countries. The Palau Team has also seen the number of online decisions for Jesus more than double through their Hope with God website and social media community since the COVID-19 outbreak began.

How Much Tech Do You Actually Need?

Because you cannot do this alone, you are going to have to trust the right individuals who know more about tech than you do. Your calling is to shepherd. Do that.

Gene Appel: Do Less Ministry; Reach More People

None of the programs at our church were bad in and of themselves. The volume of it just prevented us from being focused on building relationships with those who are far from God. So, we had to do less ministry to reach more people. It sounds funny, but people had to be trained in how to do life with nonbelievers or people spiritually disinterested.

When Familiar Becomes Careless

God wants to be in a relationship with his people that’s not marked by fear but love. Not apprehension, but an appreciation of his great grace and compassion.
