Try This: Show Your Community You Love Their Pets, Too

Hold a Blessing of the Animals event on the Sunday closest to Oct. 4, which is designated as World Animal Day, when churches throughout the world hold a Blessing of the Animals event. Invite the community to bring their pets and remind them that God loves all creatures, great and small. (Traditionally, Blessing of the Animals events were held primarily in Catholic churches, but many Protestant churches have started holding their own versions to reach out to their “pet-centric” neighbors.)
