The Coastlands Aptos Foursquare Church in Aptos, California, does a prep day on the Saturday before VBS starts to get their campus ready. They tell people, “Bring a friend, a happy heart and a sense of humor!” There’s fresh coffee when people arrive and a free lunch before people leave. And for their 2014 VBS, Hope City in High Point, North Carolina, threw a “prep party”—inviting people to an evening of set painting and craft making.
