Church Gives House to Needy Family

A woman in the Detroit area who has struggled to pay rent and have enough money left for food was given a house for free Oct. 11, thanks to the efforts of Citadel of Faith Covenant Church and many volunteers, including Craig Gross and Jason Harper, the authors of Jesus Loves You … This I Know (Baker).

More than 100 people entered to win the house. Gross and Harper worked with Citadel and the Central Detroit Christian Community Development Corporation to choose the winner. The announcement was made during Sunday services as part of a six-city tour during which Gross and Harper are highlighting different themes of the book.
