Blessing First Responders

They run toward dangerous situations from which most people usually flee, and often, the people they serve don’t have the chance to say “Thank you.”

Gig Harbor United Methodist Church in Gig Harbor, Wash., set out to rectify that with its first Gig Harbor Blessing of Law Enforcement, Firefighters and EMT personnel, which is scheduled for Oct. 4.

The church sees the blessing event as a way to thank first responders, give back to the community and connecting with people in the area.
