Experience Speaks: Ken Foreman

In our Experience Speaks series, Outreach 100 pastors share what they’ve learned about themselves, the church and the definition of success.

ON THE CHURCH

People can stand evolution more than revolution. Change seems to work best two degrees at a time. This was especially helpful as we successfully transitioned from the founding pastor.

ON MYSELF

I am at my best when I am comfortable in my own skin. When I make the most of what I have, instead of trying to be something I am not, that is the sweet spot. Choose to be you and watch what God can do.

ON SUCCESS

Success is being true to what God has called you to do. It is being faithful and fruitful in your calling.

BEST ADVICE I EVER RECEIVED

One person told me leaders are learners. Over the years I have tried to keep learning, to keep growing, to keep stretching. Remaining teachable made me into a better person and a better pastor. The day I stop learning is the day I start dying.

Gospel-Centered Parenting

The newness that comes as a result of new birth in Christ trickles down into every area of life, including our parenting.

Right Gear, Right Time

Keeping the gospel central is what keeps a church healthy and growing, not extravagant AVL productions.

It Takes Everyone

When every member shares the work, the whole body is better for it.
