Faith in Action (FIA) is a groundbreaking, experiential learning journey that will transform your church and impact your community. Turn your church inside out by encouraging and teaching your congregation to put feet to their faith and share God’s love in a practical way.

Faith in Action starts with a four-week series of sermons and educational activities to involve and inspire church members. The program culminates with a Faith in Action weekend when congregation members invite the community to join them in a day of service projects focusing on local, national and global needs, potentially held in place of the church’s regular worship service(s).

Designed as a church-wide program, Faith in Action can be smoothly implemented in your church using a full array of resource materials, including sermons, a planning guide for leaders and pastors, small group curriculum and devotional guides, as well as dynamic communications materials for engaging your congregation and reaching your community. The FIA materials provide churches with a complete campaign of education, inspiration and mobilization for this exciting compassion ministry.

Faith in Action has been forged through an unprecedented, strategic partnership between World Vision, the world’s largest Christian relief organization, Outreach, Inc., the nation’s leading provider of church communication resources, and Zondervan, the nation’s leading Christian publisher. It is our strong belief that Faith in Action will soon be an annual program implemented at thousands of churches across the country. We invite you to be a part of this new movement through a very limited, charter pilot program.

We have an exciting opportunity for a few, select, innovative churches to pilot the Faith in Action program and be a part of its final development and launch. The purpose of the pilot phase of Faith in Action is to test and refine the program, generate ideas for new or enhanced project components, and provide a catalyst for future participating churches. We are seeking a select group of churches from around the country to participate in the pilot. Your church is invited to be part of this group.

Pilot churches will be sent a package of FIA materials in November 2006, for use in your congregations for four weeks in January or February 2007 (you choose the month). All of the FIA materials will be available in some form for your church to use and evaluate during your campaign. Since this is a pilot study, we ask that you help us learn from your experience by providing feedback.

What you will be asked to do:	When:
Receive and review pilot materials Use FIA materials over a 4-week period, including an outreach activity (last weekend) Complete the program evaluation materials	November 2006 January or February 2007 February or March 2007

Your pilot project will be monitored by members of the Faith in Action team throughout the process.

The FIA package includes a range of materials to help you to educate and mobilize your congregation for community service:

• "How-to" Leader's Guide including a planning guide for the 4-week campaign and ideas for outreach projects
• Four-part Sermon Series with sermon outlines, resources, and 3-minute videos based on studies in Luke
• Four-week Small Group Bible Study with 10-minute teaching videos, a weekly Faith in Action activity and discussion guide, to help members internalize the sermon
• Individual 28-day Devotional with daily scripture, reading for reflection, journal questions and prayer guide
• The book of Luke from the Faith in Action Study Bible
• Bulletin announcement templates
• Optional inexpensive high-quality materials from Outreach, Inc. to promote your FIA ministry to members of your congregation and the community. Materials will include postcard invitations, banners and bulletins.

Your church may decide to purchase optional promotional materials from Outreach, Inc. All other Faith in Action materials will be provided free of charge.
