Pumpkin parties, Harvest Festivals, and Trunk or Treats are great Halloween alternatives to offer at your church.

But what about staying home and being a light throughout the night for your neighborhood?

Encourage your people (small groups, youth group, etc.) to join in the trick-or-treating fun on Halloween night in the neighborhood. Then, be sure to provide an avenue to share the stories and photos from the night—perhaps on Facebook, your website or even during an upcoming service.

Leading quick, simple lawn games with kids as they’re in between homes.

Hosting a table for the adults, complete with hot apple cider, coffee and hot chocolate.

Setting up a photo booth where costumed kids can have funny photos taken with their friends, parents or guardian.
